Statement
The work is process-oriented and begins with a loose concept and develops through an ongoing dialogue. The process includes a series of trials and errors, selections and eliminations, happy accidents, and lucky discoveries.
I am drawn to the abstract elements in my every day life. I make observations and collect reference materials. I explore the possibilities of integrating the patterns and other visual structures that I observe within the meditative process. The work becomes about creating harmonious relationships between opposites – becoming excited about redundancy, feeling comfortable with uncertainty, and discovering infinite possibilities within the mundane.
Throughout all my work, my general intent is create an unknown visual world that uses a vocabulary of elements to represent my perception of situations, relationships and to even contemplate the uniqueness of how we perceive.
